- "The stage arts on display are marvelous. Nadir Bey’s shrewd scenic design manages to say both desolation and comedy. Christian D. Henrriquez’s lighting can be both tender and explosive." - John Stoltenberg, DC Theater Arts
- 2024 Production Designs of the Year: "The organized chaos of Nadir Bey’s mixed materials scenic design left me in awe the moment I entered the theater. Its colorful, eclectic mess was brimming with charm and personality, perfectly manifesting the self-created space of the orphaned, stateless youth. Seeing the range of junk uniquely gathered — mix-matched chairs, rugs and tarps, road signs, hanging sheets, and an elevated metal structure — sparked my curiosity from the get-go. As with Bey’s scenic design, Johnna Presby’s costumes brilliantly utilized color. Emphasizing their youthfulness, the main characters’ color palette was limited to the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow). The costumes’ variety of patterns, textures, styles, and states of wear, particularly the contrast between the three youth and the other characters, enriched the play’s quirky stylistic storytelling. Elevating the production’s use of color even further, Christian D. Henrriquez’s lighting design often incorporated washes of the secondary colors, such as warm orange, fantastical purple, and murky teal green. Tying all of these stylistic components together was Navi’s otherworldly sound design, which evoked futuristic disquiet and wacky frivolity." - UnProfessional Opinion
